Bill Damur

Bill received his Masters and Bachelor of Music, as well as his Bachelor
of Education, from the University of Alberta. Mr. Damur has studied
flute with Wilfrid Smith, Christopher Taylor,
Alan Clarke, Adrian Brett and Harlan Green. He has taught at the Alberta
College Conservatory since 1983, and performs regularly with several
ensembles: Griffin Consort, Virus 23, Mobius, Chanticleer, The Amati
Trio, B.E.A.M.S. and Baroque Restoration Group. Many of his students
have moved up to College level and some are now working musicians. Bill
has a scholarly knowledge of flute literature from Early Music to the
Avant-Garde. He is working to start on his doctorate and has his own
radio show "Op. 88" on CJSR. Her has finished music for two
films, is active in theatre, and is well known as a composer/arranger,
clinician, public school educator and festival adjudicator.
