LEO.fx to headline BEAMS event
Tribal electronica duo LEO.fx will headline an evening of experimental music facilitated by the Boreal Electroacoustic Music Society (BEAMS). The show takes place at the Ortona Armoury (9733-102 Street) Saturday, April 23 at 8 p.m.
Comprised of John Armstrong and Vincent Sanregret, LEO.fx explores new sonic frontiers that combine sequenced tracks and real time loops of electronic beats, hand drum, bass Theremin and didgeridoo. For more information on the group, check out the Brass Monkey Productions website.
Also playing that evening will be clarinet player and leader of St. Crispin's Chamber Ensemble Don Ross, who will perform a solo tribute to his father. Rounding out the evening will be experimental unit Killers Lose in the Parking Lots, multimedia and spoken-word artist Phil Jagger, and guitarist J. Styles.
